New Documentation Requirements from 15 September 2026
How to Ensure Smooth Customs Clearance for Your Shipments
The Norwegian Customs Administration is introducing Digitoll as the new standard for customs processing in Norway.
To support a smooth transition to the new requirements, Jetpak will apply the same documentation standards from 15 September 2026 that are expected to become mandatory under Digitoll from 1 March 2027.
What Is Digitoll?
Digitoll is the Norwegian Customs Administration's new digital solution for customs processing.
The aim is to improve the flow of goods across Norway's borders by making customs information available earlier in the transportation process.
Once Digitoll is fully implemented, customs clearance must be completed before a shipment can cross the Norwegian border.
What Changes from 15 September 2026?
From 15 September, Jetpak will require the following information and documentation to be available at the time of booking to ensure shipments can be correctly and timely presented to Norwegian Customs:
✅ Complete and accurate shipment information
✅ Detailed goods descriptions
✅ Electronic commercial invoices
✅ Correct sender, receiver and goods value information
✅ All required customs-related documentation
Why Is This Important?
Customs authorities are placing increasing emphasis on the quality and completeness of shipment information.
Missing or incomplete information may result in:
Delays in customs clearance
Shipment delivery delays
Additional requests for documentation or clarification
Increased administrative processing
Providing complete information from the outset helps minimise the risk of unnecessary delays and supports a smoother transportation process.
What Should You Do Now?
We recommend reviewing your internal processes, systems and document flows to ensure that:
Required documentation is available electronically
Goods descriptions are complete and accurate
Sender and receiver information is up to date
Customs-related information is provided with the shipment from the start
The sooner these processes are aligned with the new requirements, the smoother the transition to Digitoll will be.
